A Demure Coatdress

Cissie’s coatdress will be perfect for many spring seasons to come. And yes, Cissie, I would definitely say demure!  Thanks, Cissie!

This linen was a dream to work with.  Of course, being linen, it will wrinkle, but not nearly as badly as some.  It is lined with Bemburg rayon and the collar is made from a scrap of birdseye pique in my stash (Sew Much Fabric now has this pique in stock). The pattern features bound buttonholes, darts in the bodice front and back, flaps, an a-line skirt and a detachable collar.  I love the lines of this coat dress and feel quite lady-like in this take on a 1967 Simplicity pattern!  Dare I say “demure”??

Navy and white is such crisp, classic color combination. Looks great!
