Pattern Review: McCalls 6739

Cissie is sharing her fun summer dress she recently made.

This is what I envisioned this fabric would look like in summer fashion.  A skirt or 3-quarter jacket for work would also look great.

C2235

Orange Pique

58″

100% Cotton

$16.00

Just finished the little sundress in the orange pique.  What a nice fabric is was to work on!  Great weight and blessedly–didn’t need to be lined.  The pattern is McCalls 6739.  I loved the shape of it with the squared off neck and armcyse– not to mention the pockets and no zipper.  But the pattern runs really large and I ended up taking about 4 inches out of the sides.  However, I think it will be just what I need/want for summers at the beach–easy to throw on, easy to wear.

 Thanks Cissie for the review!!

Better to be 4" too big than too small…That is really pretty and perfect for summer and just in time for the heat to turn on. a perfect dress, no zipper and those always necessary pockets. Would this look good with a jacket out of that tweed that you just mentioned in your previous post?

"Better to be 4" too big than too small…" Agree Becki! Yes, you could make this dress work appropriate by making a jacket with the boucle and belting the dress.
