Pattern Review Burda Style 9/2008 #124
Burda Style 9/2008 #124
You probably overlooked this pattern. The skirt is barely visible in this photo.
The fabric is a stretch denim from Tibi now sold out!
Prewash: I washed this in cold water on the cotton cycle and also used the cotton cycle to dry.
Notions: Gutermann thread # 267 and #870 for topstitching, Stay Tape, 9″ YKK invisible zipper#560 and Bosal Sheer Fusible Tricot Interfacing for the yoke
Alterations: The only alteration was to the back yoke. I finally admit I have a slight sway back. LOL!
Construction Details: This is a very quick and simple project.
I’ve highlighted a just a few construction tips:
- I used stay tape at the waistline and also where the yoke and skirt are joined.
- Make sure to leave a little ease when attaching the belt loops to the yoke.
- Finished belt loop
- Topstitching on pleats

The knit top is from Ann Taylor Loft, belt is by Jessica Simpson and the shoes are from DSW. I love cork heels. Even as high heels the cork is still so comfortable.
If you have this issue of Burda Style give this skirt a try. It’s a classic. I’ll make this skirt again in the natural linen for summer and the black menswear wool for fall.
lovely!
Thank you Adrienne! Hope you are feeling well.
