Pattern Review Vogue 1205
Sku# CE2047
58″
96% Cotton 4% Elastine
$17.00
Prewash: cold water/cotton cycle dry on perma press cycle
The fabric shruck 2-1/2 inches in length only.
Notions: gutermann thread, sheer fusible interfacing, stay-tape, tricot lining
Alterations: My usual size is a 12 for the front and a 10 for the back. Looking at the finished measurements printed on the pattern I decided to cut a size 14.
A full bust adjustment (FBA) was in order. On the right side I measured 3-12″ down from the shoulder and drew a horizontal line.
Draw a vertical line through the bust point on both sides.
I drew a horizontal line across the bodice where my actual bust point is. Cut to but not through the cutting line.
I needed 3/4″ in width
and 1-1/2″ in length.
Don’t forget to true the grain line and right armhole.
Construction Details: I didn’t change the order of construction because of the way the lining is inserted.
This knit had enough stretch so I could eliminate the zipper. I didn’t use a seam finish so that there would be no impressions on the right side.
I also added sheer fusible interfacing for the hem. This stabilized the hem and made it very easy to hand
sew an invisible hem.

Conclusion: I have always been a big fan of Kay Unger and I’m so glad her designs are now available for anyone who can sew. This will work for several holiday parties I will attend. I will make this again as a top for spring.
