Pattern Review Vogue 2893, Skirt

Line Drawing

 Sku# CP2007

57″

88% Cotton 12% Polyester

$25.00

Designer-Dana Buchman

Prewash:  Dry Clean

Notions:  thread, 9″ invisible zipper, Sheer Fusible Tricot interfacing, rayon lining, rayon hem tape, stay tape (for waist), size 12 universal needle

Alterations:  I took in the waist 1/2″ on the back only by trimming 1/4″ off the side seam.  I shortened the length at the hem by 1 inch.  I also tapered the hem an additional 1/4″.

Construction Details:  I traced a full skirt front, left back, right back, a full front yoke, a left back yoke and a right back yoke.  I used the copier for the yoke patterns.

Matching the print is much easier with all of the individual pattern pieces.

Yoke

Conclusion:  I like skirts with yokes and the fabric was a dream to sew!  I’ll wear this skirt with Simplicity 2560 reviewed here.
