Fabric: 58″
100% Rayon Jersey Knit
21.00
This colorway is sold out, but we still have it in the navy/purple/pink colorway.

Prewash: I washed the fabric in cold water and dried on the perma-press cycle. The fabric shrunk 2″ in width and 7″ in length. The hand of the fabric felt “beefier”.

Notions: Schmetz stretch needles size 75/11, roller foot, thread, clear elastic, steam-a-seam 2, whisper weft interfacing

Alterations: I cut a size 38 without any alterations, not even a FBA! My usual size would be a 42 for the front and a 40 for the back. This pattern is designed for stretch wovens so wearing ease is included in the pattern. By using a knit the built in ease works in my favor and I could eliminate the FBA.

Construction Details: This is a quick and easy project. I did, however, but it together my way.

1. Stitch the side tucks permanently
2. Eliminate the zipper
3. Eliminate the neckline facings
4. Add clear elastic to the front neckline (cut elastic 1″-1 1/2 ” shorter than the neckline)

5. and interface the back neckline. Turn and topstitch

6. Sew the sleeve in flat
7. Stitch side seams
8. Use steam-a-seam 2 for the lower hem and sleeve hem.
The roller foot was used for the entire project. It worked very well when applying the clear elastic.

Conclusion: This is a new TNT (tried and true) pattern for me! I’ve already made it again.

This is a basic for any wardrobe. Change it up with different sleeves or no sleeves at all. I’ll definitely make this again and again.
